The Animal Protectors Network is a non-profit organization based and incorporated in Puerto Rico. We are dedicated to the protection of animals in the Island. The Network is formed by the unity and teamwork of various animal welfare non-profit organizations and individual rescuers and rehabilitators in Puerto Rico. The main goal of the organization is to improve the conditions of the animals of the Island while working in collaboration  with other non for profit / animal welfare organizations and independent rescuers/rehabilitators uniting our strengths, talents, experiences: complementing one another...for the animals.

Our means

In order to achieve our goals the Animal Protectors' Network uses the following means

1. Education

2. Encouraging pet sterilization as a means to control animal over population, abandoned animals on our streets and animal abuse

3. Animal Abuse AWARENESS,  spreading the word that abusive behavior towards pets, any animal or any other living being is NOT ACCEPTABLE and shall NOT be condoned or tolerated - Abuse shall be penalized to the full extend of Law 67

4. Addressing Animal Abuse by educating and creating awareness among Puerto Rico residents and members of the police departments.

5. Promoting ADOPTION vs Purchase of Pets from irresponsible and uncaring breeders and/or Pet Shops / Puppy Mills (Fabrica de Mascotas)

6. Promoting volunteer opportunities which in turn improves the quality of life in Puerto Rico as citizens open their hearts the needs and suffering of other living beings (the animals) as they (volunteers) learn to help those who can not fend for themselves.

All funds and donations help the organization achieve it's goals. The animals of Puerto Rico will thank you for your cooperation and support!

FOSTER PARENTS WANTED!

Please join the Foster Pet Parents Network! 1. Your participation is voluntary; you can be removed from the list at any time and can be added at any time. So if you decide you only want to participate once and then again in 6 months its ok. 2. The foster time is decided by the volunteer; some people can dedicate only a week or two while others can have the pet for 6 months. 3. Almost all the rescue groups will give you the dog/cat after being vaccinated and checked by a vet. 4. The rescue group will contact the volunteer and will give further details of the dog/cat to match each pet with the conditions of each volunteer. This includes the space available for the pet, size and quantity of pets you can foster. Some volunteers can foster only 1 small dog while others can foster 2 large dogs at the same time. 5. There are a couple of types of foster care; one is emergency foster care for dogs/cats in danger and that need to be relocated to a safe place immediately and the socialization foster care for shy or estranged dogs that need to be socialized with persons and other dogs to aid in the adoption process. 6. The volunteers need to fill a foster parent sign participation form which can be obtain by contacting APN info@redprotectoresdeanimales.org, once you fill out the form, please email it to the Foster Parent Network coordinatornd at petfostercare@gmail.com or by fax to 787-286-5614. 7.After we receive the volunteers filled form, they will be added to the list and we will send them a second e-mail with further instructions. With your help we can help minimize the overpopulation of stray dogs and cats in PR because each and everyone of these pets is spayed or neutered, we also prevent them from being abused by other people and save them from a sure death.

PET ESCORTS WANTED !   / FLYERS WANTED!

If you are flying from San Juan to the mainland, you can help with the rescues in a very huge way by escorting dogs on your flight. It costs the flyer nothing and only takes a few minutes of your time. We just need to know when and where you are flying. And so far, we only are able to use American Airlines. The shipper would meet you at the airport by the airline counter and you would just allow them to check in the kennel/s with you and then you go on your merry way onto your flight. When you land, you just need to meet the driver at the baggage claim and claim the kennel/s - it's just a matter of coordinating with the driver to meet up with them in baggage claim. See, nothing to it! If you are flying and would like to offer your transport services, please fill out the information below and send it to me at ginny@manosporpatas.org  Date of flight Time flight departs Departing city Time flight arrives Arriving city Number of flyers Airline Contact info for flyer - Name, phone number, and email
